Barry A. Ruht, MD
President
Barry A. Ruht M.D. is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Ruht also is Fellowship Trained in Foot and Ankle at the University of Pennsylvania. He provides general orthopedic care with additional Fellowship Training in Foot and Ankle.
Dr. Ruht is a seasoned Orthopedic Surgeon having performed the following: arthroplasties/ joint replacements including total knee arthroplasty, shoulder arthroplasty, and total hip arthroplasty. Dr. Ruht has also performed arthroscopies of the shoulders, knees and ankles. Presently, his primary interest is the evolving/developing field of Orthobiologics.
Orthobiologics are therapies developed using Growth Factors that can help relieve pain, heal injuries, and improve healing without surgical procedures. Common disabilities appropriate to Orthobiologic are the following:
- Osteoarthritis and tendon tears of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle and joints of the foot.
Orthobiologic Therapies are injections performed in the office with local nerve blocks, no sedation, no anesthesia, and no need for a formal surgical center or hospital operating room. Following the procedure patients are full weight-bearing, with crutches being optional and rarely necessary. Ankle injections do typically require the use of a walking CAM boot, which is included in the cost of the procedure.
Dr. Ruht’s injections/therapies include the following:
- PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)
- ECM (Extra Cellular Matrix, also known as Stem Cell)
PRP and ECM are rich in platelets, one of three components of the blood. The PRP and ECM active ingredients are growth factors, which are injected into the patient’s injured areas. Growth factors have the ability to mature into the articular cartilage of the injured joint or the tendon of injured tendons.
Dr. Ruht continues to pursue his interest in general orthopedics, evaluating and treating injuries to the neck (cervical spine) and low back (lumbosacral spine) non-surgically. Dr. Ruht also continues to evaluate and treat injuries to the shoulder (rotator cuff and arthritis), elbow (tennis elbow and overuse injuries), wrist and fingers (carpal tunnel and trigger finger), foot and ankle.
Dr. Ruht’s solo practice efforts are directed to high-quality, individualized patient care with easy accessibility. The latest and most sophisticated technology and orthobiologics are presented along with a friendly and innovative office staff. Dr. Ruht’s staff includes the following:
- Certified x-ray technician providing x-rays in the office.
- Certified orthotist providing orthotics and multiple joint bracing in the office.
- Certified surgical technologist assisting Dr. Ruht with all facets of the clinical practice.

Patient Testimonials

Dr. Barry & his staff have helped me stay on my feet more than one time. I can't say it enough. He goes above and beyond in making sure I understood the directions of care. Recommend!

The staff is great, couldn't be more accommodating. It is nice to see smiling faces. They work hard and long hours just to get this beat up body up and working correctly. Thank you everyone!

I talked with Dr. Ruht and his staff and was treated with respect and compassion. He swore by this ECM product. I was in pain, and I decided to have the procedure done. I felt comfortable throughout the whole procedure. What was funny is that I felt great by the seventh week. I felt such a difference. I honestly felt relieved. The eighth week I started to slowly work out again. Around that time, I saw Dr. Ruht for a follow up appointment. There was a big decrease in pain, and I was mobile again. My quality of life was better, and I regained a lot of confidence in myself again. My doubts about the ECM shoulder injection are gone. I feel normal and I am so grateful to Dr. Ruht and his staff These cells are amazing! Regenerative Medicine is the key to better health. If you are facing similar issues and have exhausted other options, I would highly recommend that you consider the ECM shoulder and knee injections. Take it from a guy who knows pain.
Thank you, Dr. Ruht and staff. Also, thank you ECM for giving me back the freedom to live life to the fullest.

By age 74, I had ceased all exercise and was occasionally walking with a cane because of right hip pain. The stairs were difficult and even sitting was a problem because of the hip pain. I consulted Dr. Ruht, and after an examination on RC and imaging in his office, he recommended a therapy that he had been using with remarkable success. He injected my hip with a stem cell product in an easy "in and out" procedure. Over the next several months, the pain resolved, and I am now, thanks to Dr. Ruht and this new therapy, exercising on a regular basis! No scars, no post-op therapy or hardware in my hip. Thanks Dr. Ruht! There was a big decrease in pain, and I was mobile again. My quality of life was better, and I regained a lot of confidence in myself again. My doubts about the ECM shoulder injection are gone. I feel normal and I am so grateful to Dr. Ruht and his staff. These cells are amazing!

The pain and limitations I experienced from a torn rotator cuff were daunting, but your innovative approach using ECM/PRP treatments proved to be a game changer in my recovery. These have allowed me to avoid a major surgical procedure. Not only did Dr. Ruht’s expertise shine through in the treatment itself, but your compassionate and attentive staff contributed significantly to my overall positive experience. Their support was invaluable during a challenging time.
I am thrilled to report that my recovery has been nothing short of remarkable. Thanks to your skillful intervention, I am back to pursuing all the activities I love, including exercising with the same vigor as before. Your commitment to patient well-being has made a profound impact on my life.

I am 69 years old, with a 30-year career in landscaping, followed by 18 years in stone masonry, and 25 years of basketball mixed-in. The result: serious knee deterioration and pain while standing, walking, and navigating stairs. I did not want knee replacements, or the downtime and rehab that goes with it. Then I heard about ECM. Injecting human growth cells to regrow my cartilage seemed like a solution that made sense to me - a once and done, painless procedure for life. Dr. Ruht, a believer and leader in this field, is the physician I chose.
I saw results after the first five weeks, and they have continued. It has been four months since my injections, and thanks to Dr. Ruht, my retirement years look very promising.

Dr. Ruht had me read the literature on the ECM (Extra Celluar Matrix) and suggested that I try it for my knee pain. Well, within a couple of hours, I was already feeling a difference. It has been more than several months and I do not have any pain or discomfort with my knee. I continue to exercise and go about my daily routine with no pain. It is a wonderful feeling! Thank you Dr. Ruht!

I hereby attest to a recent positive experience receiving a knee infusion of ExtraCellular Matrix. I personally wanted less invasive options in therapy [rather than surgical options]. My prior and constant knee pain, which would wake me from sleep, and my prior daily use of pain medications several times a day was completely reversed. My prior daily use for a knee brace was eliminated within two days. My knee became more stable, and my mobility became confident and active again. I can walk with confidence and strength. At the age of now almost 77... I attest to my positive improvements and satisfaction.
