Physical Therapy

Physical therapy is the treatment of physical dysfunction or injury by the use of therapeutic exercise and the application of modalities, intended to restore or facilitate normal function or development.

Our Physical Therapy Department is an integral part of our Practice. Our therapist's main concern is the well being of the patient.  Physical therapy is very important in that it helps decrease stiffness, pain and some weakness in order to get the patient back to a normal daily schedule whether it be sports or work related.

In order to strengthen muscles, improve a patient's circulation and to obtain full range of motion,  certain therapeutic functions are used.  Some of these treatments include, ice, heat, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, traction, exercise (using weights and universal equipment) and isokinetic strengthening.

Our Therapists are well-educated and highly trained in all the newest techniques available. They are trained to work with patients that have suffered a sprain, fracture, knee injury, shoulder injury that has been surgically repaired, as well as patients that have had joint replacement

All treatment plans are coordinated with the physician once the physical therapy evaluation has been completed.

As you know, most insurance companies have different criteria that need to be met before an authorization for physical therapy can be approved. Our staff will be glad to assist you in obtaining this information so that you are aware of what your insurance will cover.
